Opportunity:
I am working in partnership with a Local Council located in Brisbane’s Southern Suburbs. We are looking for experienced Road Maintenance Engineer for a 6 month contract. 
  
The purpose of this role is to provide direction and technical expertise in the development, management and implementation of comprehensive maintenance program across all road and drainage infrastructure. 

Type of work includes, but not limited to:

• Service Enhancement delivery
• REPA projects
• Small construction projects
• Developing engineering criteria for prioritisation models in the context of road maintenance management across drainage, sealed and unsealed roads
• Service Enhancements, Customer Service responses, Quality documents, Contract documents
• Being part of contract evaluation panels and overseeing Contractor’s performance
• Road construction and maintenance practices (QA, ITP’s & SWMS)
• Drainage, Retaining Structures and Protective Treatments
• Appropriate technical reference documents, standard drawings and manuals (TMR, IPWEAQ and Austroads )
• Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) – Disaster Funding Arrangements (DRFA)
• Workplace Health and Safety as applied to road construction and maintenance

Requirements include:
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
• Proven experience and knowledge in the delivery of road maintenance
• Strong communication skills with understanding of stakeholder management
• Understanding of Local Government policies and procedures
• Local Government knowledge would be desirable
• RPEQ would be desirable , but not essential
