Risk Management Coordinator - Regional Council

Public Sector People are working in partnership with a Local Government in Victoria's Regional East in the hiring of a Risk Management Coordinator. 
  • Band 7: $92,351.47 - $102,210.045 per annum + super
  • Full time, 3 year tenure
  • Friendly and supportive environment
  • One Direct Report 

About the role:

The purpose of the role is to:
  • Coordinate implementation and management of a risk management framework, incorporating risk management policies, strategies and procedures with the aim of significantly reducing Council’s risk.
  • Facilitate and foster a proactive risk management and safety culture throughout the organisation.
You will have:
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret applicable legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management standards and practices, and understanding of Councils’ policies, strategies and procedures pertaining to risk.
  • Highly developed investigative, auditing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to train and educate individuals, small and large groups.
  • Ability to operate within and manage the Risk Administration annual budget.

Requirements Include:
  • Experience in an appropriate field such as risk management, law, business or related discipline. Tertiary qualifications and membership of relevant professional bodies would be well regarded.
  • High level of understanding of legislation, policy and practices, particularly those relevant to Local Government.
  • Experience in risk management and business continuity.
  • Experience in the development and writing of policies, strategies and procedures for medium sized organisations.
