Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to Revenue Services Officer to join a Local Government on a temporary basis in the inner suburbs from 3rd June - 2nd July.
  • Rates Experience (Local Govt)
  • Tech One System (Property & Rating)
  • Debt Recovery 
POSITION OBJECTIVE
  • Provide a proactive approach in relation to the collection of outstanding debts;
  • Maintain Council’s arrangement plans in accordance with policies and procedures;
  • Assist Revenue Services Team Leader with debt collection policies and procedures;
  • Process all agency payments for relevant revenue streams;
  • Attend to written and verbal requests for information relating to property and rates;
  • Assist in the maintenance of Council’s property and rate database, including changes to ownership, pension applications, and information pertaining to the name and address register;
  • Maintain excellent public relations on all occasions 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience in Local Government; in particular Revenue Services (rates) customer service administration; or similar type roles
  • Advanced skills using Technology One (Property and Rating) software, and the Microsoft Office suite
  • A sound knowledge of the debt recovery process as it applies to the collection of Rates
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and solve complex issues regarding a range of inquiries in a professional and proficient manner
