The role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the City Assets and Environment Directorate within the PMO to lead and coordinate complex Council projects. The role will be responsible for the development, delivery and management of complex projects across Council from planning through to delivery, as well as oversight of various programs.  This role will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders across the organisation to influence change and drive a high performing project management culture, to ensure planned project outcomes are consistently achieved. This role will build positive working relationships with external stakeholders, including State Government Agencies.  

The role will also provide high level support to the Senior Project Manager by managing projects, ensuring the successful delivery of Council programs of work and projects across Council.

About you

You will have:
  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Project Management or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing large complex projects, preferably within a Local Government setting.
  • Project Management accreditation and sound understanding of project management methodologies
  • A continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities and implement outcomes for innovation through project delivery, partnerships and processes/procedures.
  • Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple projects on time, to budget and to client satisfaction within a structured reporting framework.
  • High level relationship building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work within a high-pressure environment and effectively manage multiple priorities within a complex environment.
