Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join a Local Government on a permanent full-time basis.

  • Band 7 - $$ 99,526.44 - $ 103,335.96 plus super
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Provide expert-level advice that aligns operational needs with best practice to develop meaningful safe
Requirements Include:
  • Provide internal HR consultancy and advisory services to help build people management capability across all levels of the designated client group and contribute to the organisation’s culture, goals and objectives.
  • Effectively partner with the business to enable leadership at all levels, including promoting diversity & inclusion and staff engagement contributing to the organisation’s culture, goals and objectives.
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to build organisational capacity, manage performance and strengthen their people management skills and capability.
  • Provide timely, sound, and authoritative advice across a range of ER issues, including performance management, employee welfare, grievances, dispute resolution, EEO, etc.
  • Provide accurate interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement, applicable legislation and industrial regulations and Council policies and procedures.
The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related discipline with a demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in HR business partnering model.
  • Experience in a broad range of HR functions, including ER/IR, at both an operational and strategic level.
  • Significant experience in the implementation of HR policies, systems, strategies and programs.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in coaching managers and case managing underperformance, disciplinary and associated matters.
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of organisational change.
  • National Criminal History check 
  • Working with Children Check
