Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to an experienced OHS Policy Advisor to join a Local Government on a part time, fixed term basis.

• ASAP - 31st December
• 25 hours a week
• South Eastern Suburbs
• Band 6 - $87,879-$95,783, plus superannuation

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide expert-level advice that aligns operational needs with best practice to develop meaningful safety documentation as per the endorsed OHS management system framework
• Monitor and ensure adherence to an OHS management system development action plan;
• Develop, update and modify a documented OHS management system that aligns better practices with business needs across the organisation
• Establish consultative work groups and coach these groups to enable effective consultation and feedback for policy and procedure drafts
• Incorporate feedback from the consultation process into drafts for presentation to the OHS Committee’s for endorsement
• Maintain and store all associated records and data as required
• Track review dates and plan for review of OHS management system documents to ensure they remain current and relevant

Requirements Include:

The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:

• Relevant OHS qualifications
• Previous experience in an OHS role
• Experience in local government would be an advantage
• Highly developed policy and procedure writing skills
• Experience in understanding and applying OHS legislation and guidance
• National Criminal History check 
• Working with Children Check
