Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to a Network/ Security Engineer join a Local Government on a contract.  
  • East Melbourne location (Work from home)
  • Immediate start
  • 6-month contract
  • $90 an hour + super
  • Must have security systems knowledge and experience
Key Criteria: 
  • This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the organisations network. There may also be the requirement to provide recommendations and designing of the network infrastructure.
  • Extensive knowledge and skills in a variety of security systems including Firewalls, Intrusion detection & prevent systems.
  • Other requirements include experience in Identity and Access management, Multi-factor Authentication, Endpoint protects, Application Control, Network Admission Control and Email Security.
  • Must have working knowledge of Security and Risk Management Framework, Security Architecture and Engineering and Security Assessment and Penetration Testing.
  • Experience in any of the following would be preferred; Palo Alto Network firewall, Fortigate firewall, Mimecast email gateway, Rapid7 InsightDR, Crowdstrike EDR and F5 LTM and ASM.
Requirements Include:

The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:
  • CISSP Certification or similar certification is desirable
  • Previous role/ experience as a network engineer.
  • Previous experience managing large and complex technology projects.
  • Skills: Cisco ISE and CCNP preferred.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively. The team are very close and all work together to achieve objectives. Although you will be working solo in this role, the wider team communicate regularly therefore you must be comfortable working in a team environment. 
  • If successful, will be required to have an up-to-date National Police Check.
