About the position:
As the Municipal Building Surveyor, working collaboratively with the Manager of Community Safety, you will be tasked with overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the Building Services Unit, ensuring compliance with the Victorian Building Legislation and efficiently administer the provisions of the Building Act and Regulations.

Leading the statutory and permit function of council, you will be supported by an established team of industry professionals, thus strong leadership and previous experience operating at a senior level within local government or private practice is imperative and will see you flourish within this role.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Registration as a Building Surveyor – Unlimited as issued with the VBA
  • Experience managing and delivering a diverse range of building permits
  • Excellent leadership, communication and time-management skills
  • A customer-centric approach with the ability to foster and drive relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
