About the role: 

Design & Build Recruitment are currently inviting applications for the role of  Modifications Officer to join a government body on an initial 3 month contract with potential to extend to 6 months. 

The responsibilities of this role is to deliver the administration & technical functions of the modification process including preparing documents, assessing applications & providing general regulation & legislative advice to internal & external stakeholders. 

This role would suit someone that has previous experience as a building surveying assistant, student or cadet building surveyor or a senior administrator from a building services environment & has knowledge of the Building Act & legislation.

Requirements include: 
  • Tertiary qualifications in building surveying or currently studying towards qualification and/or demonstrated experience within building related environment, such as local government
  • Knowledge of Victoria's building control systems
  • High level administrative skills - ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports & provide recommendations on technical & non-technical issues
  • Excellent communication with confidence in delivering advice & presentations
  • Proven ability to handle multiple demands in a deadline driven environment
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, ability to foster strong relationships internally & externally
