Job Description
Public Sector People are recruiting a Manager of Statutory Planning for a peri-urban council. This is a six month contract and the role will be advertised permanently during this period.
This Manager will oversee the Statutory Planning team and the Statutory Planning administration team. You will have three direct reports, two Statutory Planning Coordinators and One Planning Admin Team Leader.
This is a busy council, and to be successful in this role you will be strong in both technical and people management skills. Council are looking for a strong
leader who can support the director and work independently to lead their unit.
You will be required to have some attendance in the office, balanced with
working from home. This is a good opportunity for a Manager who is looking for an opportunity to be involved in change, or a seasoned Coordinator ready to step into a Manager level role.

Requirements include:
- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Environmental Planning or related discipline.
- Five plus years’ relevant experience, preferably in local government.
- People management experience
- Band 8 role with attractive hourly rate.
- Work in a council undergoing substantial growth with a variety of planning issues to challenge you.
- Six month contract, with opportunity for role to transition into a permanent role.
- Flexible working hours available.
