Public Sector People is proudly and exclusively partnering with Moira Shire Council to appoint a Manager Building, Planning and Regulatory Services. Reporting directly to the General Manager Infrastructure, this exciting role will have a clear mandate across key business functions including Strategic and Statutory Planning, Regulatory Compliance and Local Laws, Building Services, and other projects as needed.
Whilst leading a high-performing, technically strong, and passionate team, your role will be to ensure legislative obligations are met and that systems, processes and culture continue to develop to create a safe and well-planned municipality.  Furthermore, you will look to streamline processes to reduce complexity, and leading from the front providing exceptional customer service.  With your positive and enthusiastic personality, you will be adaptive, flexible and agile with your approach to the role, be willing to embrace change and open to working collaboratively across other councils and key stakeholders as required.
The Manager Building, Planning and Regulatory Services will lead and manage the building, planning, safety and amenity functions through delivery of strategic town plans, statutory planning, municipal building surveying services and local laws.
The position is intended to be interchangeable, dependent upon the successful incumbent.  The intention is that the role could suit a background and registration/qualifications as a Town Planner or a Municipal Building Surveyor.  This role will supervise the Planning Coordinator, Building, Team Leader Administration and the Safety and Amenity Coordinator.
To secure this role it is essential that candidates have demonstrated senior experience in managing people, finances and resources including performance management and workforce planning.  A qualification in Town Planning, Building Surveying or other appropriate tertiary qualification(s), will be an advantage.

Council’s administrative centre is located in Cobram with a service centre at Yarrawonga and agency services in eight other towns throughout the municipality.
Moira Shire is strategically positioned just a two and a half hour drive from Melbourne and close to other regional centres, including Shepparton, Wangaratta, Echuca-Moama and Albury-Wodonga.
