Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to an IT/ GIS Support Officer who would be interested in a 3-month rolling contract within a Local Government organisation.   
  • Immediate start
  • Short term project, approx. 4-5 weeks assignment
  • Flexible working can work full time or part time and choose your own hours!
  • Will be an ideal position for someone studying, has other commitments or looking for an in-between role!
  • $40 - $42 an hour + super
This Local Government organisation is situated within an area that was heavily affected by the Melbourne storms that took place a few months ago. They are currently in the process of processing the damages and need a IT/ GIS Support Officer to assist them with the organisation of their visual evidence.
This role will suit someone who enjoys getting organised and has some experience or exposure to GIS.

This role fully supports flexible working and can accommodate a candidate who is wanting to work from home and work part time. Full time is also available.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Categorise visual files on Dropbox and Google Drive.
  • Organise visual files to be easily found by the GIS team and support the process in ensuring files are easily accessible and in the correct place.
  • Support the GIS team on ad-hoc projects or tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders across the IT department to inform them of the progress and any issues that may arise.
Requirements Include:

The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:
  • You must be super organised with data and ensure you work is complete accurately and efficiently.
  • An excellent communicator who can work closely with the GIS and IT team.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Enjoy organising data.
  • Can commit to the role for the 4 – 5 weeks duration.
