Opportunity:
I am working in partnership with a local council located in Melbourne’s outer South East suburbs. We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst for this 6x month contract.
  
You will be working with this great team to ensure the council is compliant with the selected Cyber Security Framework. 

Duties will include but not limited to:
  • Analyse and establish security requirements for systems/networks
  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
  • Emphasis on compliance and working to the selected Cyber Security Framework
  • Develop and update business continuity and disaster recovery protocols
  • Design and conduct security audits to ensure operational security
  • Maintain and enhance the documentation standards for discoveries and reporting of malicious tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Keep abreast of the latest security threats, attack mechanisms and security breaches in the industry
  • Identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and advise on how they are best avoided
  • Define and implement corporate security policies and procedures
Requirements include:
  • Investigative skills, instinctive and creative (an ability to think like a hacker (White-Hat)
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Self-motivated with strong values and ethical standards
  • Ability to develop and update business continuity and disaster recovery protocols    
  • Ability to perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments    
  • Investigative skills    
  • A solid knowledge of cyber security methodologies and frameworks, such as Information Security Manual (ASD), NIST, ISO 27001, 27002 and 27005.
  • Knowledge of Email and Web Security, Microsoft Office 365 Security, Microsoft EOP/ATP
  • Understanding of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Data Lost Prevention (DLP), anti-virus and anti-malware
  • IDS/IPS, penetration and vulnerability testing
  • DDOS mitigation technologies
  • Understanding of Firewalls and Proxies
