Provide specialist support and advice to managers and staff in respect to terms and conditions of employment, and other employment related matters including but not limited to; people management practices arising from Awards, Agreements, policies and procedures in addition to our Code of Conduct and Values & Behaviours.
Provide advice on recruitment matters and ensure compliance with policy and procedure.
Ensure recruitment systems (b-Recruit) and processes are adhered to.
Provide guidance and direction to Managers and staff with relation to the development and update of position descriptions.
Provide advice in regard to organisational change processes and assist with the coordination and implementation of organisational change as required.
Complete classification evaluations of positions across Council as required using the Award classification definitions.
Key Selection Criteria:
Relevant experience in human resources management and/or an appropriate tertiary qualification with relevant experience in a similar field.
Sound knowledge and proven ability to work within the parameters of contemporary human resources practices.
The ability to interpret local government terms and conditions of employment, including best practice recruitment and selection practices.
Experience in the interpretation of instruments covering terms and conditions of employment.
Experience in the administration of remuneration policies.
Working knowledge of, and ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of products, including World, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
