Job Description

Public Sector People are working with a government organisation within the Brisbane outer suburbs (LOGAN)  to recruit Community Grants Officer for a 8-month Contract position with the possibility of extension or direct appointment Permanent position.  
  
The successful applicant will work within a small but supportive team. There will be ongoing training and development within the role. Flexible working is welcomed once trained.
The purpose of this role is to work with local community organisations with Grant writing and grant application processes to bring more funding to the local community.
  
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Proactively engage with internal and community stakeholders and networks to identify community funding needs and capacity building opportunities relating to grants.
  • Build the capacity and resilience of local community through the development of skills in organisational and project planning, grant writing and reporting, and the provision of funding information and advice.
  • Coordinate and deliver information sessions, workshops and training to increase the skills and capacity for local organisations to prepare for, research, identify and successfully apply for grants.
  • Provide one on one support to organisations to assist with preparing and providing feedback on grant applications, as appropriate. This might include providing regular and/or ad-hoc support in community.
  • Deliver appropriate and strategic promotion and support to increase the accessibility and uptake of Council grants by targeted groups including First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse, seniors and people with disabilities.
  • Proactively promote, encourage and support community groups to apply for state, federal and private grants, including promoting and administering Grant Writer Program.
  • Assist community with identifying and navigating appropriate internal and external funding opportunities, and assist with general enquiries relating to grants.
  • Assist organisations with navigating relevant internal approvals and support for funded events, projects and initiatives.
  • Manage operational budgets as allocated under the direction of the Community Grants Coordinator.
  
About you:
  • Experience working as a GRANTS OFFICER previously is required
  • Experience within government is desirable
  • Passionate about your local community
  • High attention to detail you work great with various Stakeholders!
  • You love a challenge
  • Experience with SMARTYGRANTS is desirable
