The opportunity
Local Council in the Inner Suburbs is looking for an experience Finance Officer to come join the Financial Accounting department, in the Accounts Payable team on a 6-month temporary contract. You will be responsible for providing admin and support across these Finance functions. Ensuring the timely download, allocation and receipting of daily banking & payment files and reconcile Council’s bank accounts.
  • 6-month temporary contract
  • $33 - $43 p/hour + super, 38 hours a week
  • WFH flexibility – 1-2 days in office
What you’ll deliver
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, general journals and accrual journals
  • Responsible for reconciliations completed on a timely basis with variances investigated and cleared
  • Ensuring journals are processed accurately with clear understanding of accounting treatment (debit and credits)
  • Reconciliation and review of transactions within the Travel and Expense module (staff reimbursements and credit cards)
What you’ll bring
  • Background in Accounts Payable and good understanding of the general ledger
  • Good Accounting standards and relevant legislation knowledge
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and purchase orders
  • Sound Excel knowledge, Technology One experience is desirable but not necessary
  • WFH Flexibility – in accordance with legislation and Council mandate
  • Laptop provided
  • Supportive and friendly team leader, with a collaborative team
