The opportunity
This Local Council needs a Finance Analyst with a strong background in Fixed Assets to come in and assist the team while they go through a digital transformation within the council. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be supporting a large team on budgeting and forecasting as well as emphasis on capital works projects.

• $50 p/hour + super

What you’ll deliver

• Fixed Assets – capitalization, revaluation, disposals, depreciations, creating new processes
• Assisting with the budgets and forecasts that will align to the Council’s Financial Plan in accordance to Australian Accounting Standards and Council policies
• Providing financial advice, assistance and training to other Council business units

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce/Accounting
• CPA or CA qualified, or undertaking
• Demonstrated experience in accounting, with exposure to budgeting, forecasting, internal and external reporting, taxation, cash management and auditing
• Ability to understand and interpret legislations, Acts and Accounting standards, especially Accounting Standard 116
• Well developed IT skills to navigate council systems, Oracle experience ideal but not necessary
