Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to Estimators who are interested in to joining a Local Council in North QLD for 3 month contract. 

• Temporary Assignment - 3 Months- FIFO
• Pay Rate of $65-75 p/h plus super
• Opportunity to impact a remote council and community

Key Objective of this role is all estimating of works encompassed within the Housing division of the Council. The estimators work varies from small maintenance works, minor and major renovation through to new builds of Housing, Additions, Community and Special Projects.

General Requirements Include:

• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering site measures, proposals, drawings, documentation, specifications, and related documents.
• Identifies labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, documentation, specifications, site/island specific conditions and related documents.
• Estimates costs by analysing labour, material, site/island specific conditions and time requirements 
• Workplace Health and Safety
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends. 
• Maintains cost data base and technical knowledge
• Sources suppliers, installers and contractors for quotes and timeframes
• Identifies and communicates to Managers price variations and expected overspend/underspend
• Follows procurement policy and prepares assessments to support purchase orders as and when required by the procurement policy

Essential Criteria:

• QLD Drivers licence – C Class open
• Undertake a new Criminal history check at commencement of employment 
• At commencement of Employment hold a current Working with Children Clearance ( Blue Card)
• Be an Australian Citizen,  Resident or provide the current, relevant Visa to work in Australia
• Experience working for remote, local councils would be highly regarded
