Full Job Description:
Design & Build are currently inviting submissions from suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the role of Environmental Health Officer.

Working within the Health and Local Laws Department, this role will see the successful candidate tasked with conducting a range of environmental health assessments for registered premises to ensure compliance.

Key Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental Health legislation and Australian Standards and demonstrated experience in analysing and interpreting these to achieve practical outcomes.
  • Proven ability to conduct inspections and investigations on a community level, and produce effective outcomes within the parameters of relevant Legislation, relevant Local Laws and Council policies.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, including customer service and time management skills.
  • Ability to use technical equipment relevant to the environmental health discipline.
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads and customer requests in relation to risk and priority level and manage own re-inspection's to determine compliance with previous directions/notices/orders.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyse or investigate issues, write concise professional reports and correspondence and provide advice on issues.
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide their own PPE (eg. steel cap boot,wide brim hat, etc.
  • Proven ability to conduct inspections and investigations on a community level, and produce effective outcomes within the parameters of relevant Legislation, relevant Local Laws and Council policies.
