Job Description

About the role:
Fantastic permanent opportunity for an Environmental Engineer to join our local government client. This is a high performing team with a great culture that are seeking someone technically strong to work across Road, Drainage and Assets and also supervise within the team. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate team delivery of street sweeping schedules and daily runs to keep the city clean.
  • Coordinate the cleaning schedule for pits, pipes and gross pollutant traps to maintain a clean storm water drainage network.
  • Manage Council’s pipe jetting and CCTV program and update Council’s stormwater asset data in conjunction with the assets team.
  • Oversee worksite inspections to identify completion status, areas of compliance and regulatory risk and implement appropriate strategies to enhance program delivery.
  • Prepare Part V assessments for City Works activities including those in or near waterways in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 to protect and enhance the natural environment.
  • Actively contribute to Council’s Environmental Strategy Group and engage and consult with other stakeholders to inform organisational direction, strategy and action.
  • Provide regular reports on results achieved against legislative and compliance requirements to inform required responses to the community and stakeholders and to mitigate risk to Council.
  • Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
  • Work in collaboration with and assist the team, manager and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.
Key Skills 
  • Tertiary qualification and experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing operational teams across a range of functional areas.
  • A SafeWork NSW White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
  • Current Driver’s Licence Class C.
