Job Description

Public Sector People is proudly and exclusively partnering with GV Health to appoint a Manager Employee Relations, that reports directly to the Executive Director, People, Development and Capability. 
  
As a key member within the People, Development & Capability Leadership team, the role has strategic and operational management oversight for a team delivering expert employee relations services, advice, manager ‘coaching and support’. Furthermore, you will provide:
  • interpretation and application of employment legislation, industrial instruments, policies & procedures
  • employee entitlements and contractual arrangements
  • position classification and classification reviews
  • performance management and disciplinary processes
  • workplace investigations (discrimination, bullying, sexual/harassment, unfair treatment etc)
  • non-work related injuries and return to work
  • resolution of disputes and grievances
  • change management and workforce reform
  • redeployment and redundancy
  • termination of employment
  • enterprise bargaining
  • union facilitation 
This vacancy has arisen due to a recent internal promotion and the creation of this role to ensure the health service is well placed to meet its ER/IR requirements both now and into the future. This is a unique opportunity in the region to work strategically and operationally on ER related matters, and to lead a team.   
  
To be considered for the role, it will be essential that you have:
  • A tertiary qualification in human resources management/IR or a related discipline
  • Proven experience leading a ER/HR function,
  • Ability to develop effective strategies, processes and interventions to address the organisation’s ER/IR requirements and ensure compliance with legislation
  • Able to influence & use sound judgement to get desired results
  • Experience overseeing and managing hands on complex ER/IR matter
  • An ability to respond to key priorities as they arise while maintaining core operations,
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and relationship building skills,
  • Capability to flex operational detail with big picture thinking,
  • Exceptional team working and collaboration skills organisational wide,
  • An ability to thrive in a fast paced and complex work environment,
  • Previous working Knowledge in Health or allied working environments  
Furthermore, you will possess confident personal presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence, engage diverse and senior stakeholders.  You have the capacity to work under pressure, be agile and adept to change with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You also possess an ability to deal with the detail, with the bigger picture in mind and appreciate diversity and inclusion.
  
The commencement of the role will be based upon the status COVID-19 Victorian Government Safety guidelines.  Relevant health and probity checks will be required.
