Job Description


I’m working with a local government client in Geelong who are looking for a Document Management Officer to provide support in archiving, mail room and records management. This is a contract role commencing on the 5th of December and finishing on the 24th of December with an hourly rate of $37.86 + Superannuation, full-time hours.
Main duties:
  • Apply the correct indexes, classifications and retention periods for documents
  • Scan and register records within the appropriate timeframes
  • Keep track of the electronic and hardcopy documents and make changes if needed, review for accuracy
  • Handle requests for documents and inquiries from Council Staff
  • Perform the physical archiving of documents (involves manual handling)
  • Mail room duties – sorting and distributing mail
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Experience in Records/Document Control
  • An understanding of relevant legislation for records and electronic document management
  • Prioritise well
  • Able to undertake the physical component of archiving and mail room
  • Ideally you will have some local government experience
