Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to a Digital Content Officer who would be interested in a 3-month contract within a Local Government organisation.   
  • Immediate start
  • 3-month contract (possible extension available) 
  • Inner Melbourne location (work from home currently available with the view to slowly return to the office)
  • $50 - $55 an hour + super
  • Must have Content creation experience/ excellent writing skills 
  • Local Government/ Public Sector experience beneficial 
This role is responsible for editing intranet content and publishing on the internal intranet using SharePoint. The Digital content Officer will be working alongside the content team and will need to have knowledge of Digital Accessibility, UX writing and have some knowledge on Sharepoint (not essential). 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce content and upload it to SharePoint in line with project objectives.
  • Edit and design content to meet the organisations standards and in line with the user needs, therefore consultation with stakeholders may need to be organised from time to time.
  • Ensure pages are tagged correctly and metadata is correct.
  • Remediate accessibility issues on PDF and Word Documents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder to co-design content to represent current and relevant news.
  • Work as part of a team of content producers to migrate and improve content from our old intranet into the new platform.
  • Project based work, working on multiple projects currently happening amongst the team. 
Requirements Include:

The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:
  • Must be an excellent writer and be able to create engaging and relevant content. 
  • Creating content in plain English and turning complex language and processes easy to understand.
  • Knowledge and understanding of usability and accessibility standards as they apply to mobile and web-based digital content.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and building relationships with subject matters to design and create relevant content.
  • An excellent team player who can learn quickly and think on their feet, using their initiative to brainstorm creative ideas with the wider team.
