Public Sector People is proudly and exclusively partnering with South East Water to appoint an exciting opportunity as Design Manager – Strategic Asset Management. Reporting directly to the Group Manager Strategic Asset Management, the role will have a clear mandate for the overall management of the design and estimating support for the Liveable Water Solutions group.  
  
Regarded as a key People Leader within the business, the role will focus on the development of product requirements and design standards for South East Waters capital works projects. Critical to success, you will:-

• Lead a team of 6-8 direct reports.
• oversee design and estimation for the group,
• develop technical expertise and design support,
• manage internal and external auditing processes,
• control budgetary requirements,
• contribute to business case development, tenders, and work order bids,
• manage compliance and ongoing standards to adhere to relevant codes,
• oversee processes to drive continuous improvements and
• consistently promote and drive a culture of safety for South East Water.

   
To be considered for the role, you will hold Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or Asset Management with planning and design of water related assets regarded as essential. Ideally you will be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CP Eng) or equivalent as recognised by Engineers Australia.  
To be considered for an interview, you must be able to:-

• demonstrate your experience in risk management methodologies,
• possess strong people management capabilities, and
• lead a team of professionals to deliver key projects with favourable outcomes.

Furthermore, with your design management skills you possess an understanding of the infrastructure asset project lifecycle, asset creation and delivery of capital works in the water industry will be essential. You will exert high-level influencing and negotiations skills, problem solving and the ability to be agile with sound industry legislative knowledge, all with a clear focus for customer outcomes.
