About The Role: 
Public Sector People are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the Design Studio Architecture team. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in a significant government and client environment. This role will suit someone looking to work in a high end capital works project. 

Key Responsibilities:   
Design Managers in the Design Studio team are responsible for the design for the City’s capital works projects with specific expertise in public buildings. There is a range of building projects underway or planned including the Green Square Aquatic centre, new community, sporting and childcare facilities and a range of community and commercial facility upgrades.
The City Projects team prides itself on its commitment to design excellence.
Design Managers typically undertake feasibility, develop project briefs and engage and manage external design consultants to develop and document projects.

Projects of Work:
This is a project based role, with design managers typically dealing with cluster of projects.  A range of specific opportunities exist depending upon the strengths of the candidate, from feasibility and concept stage focus of new projects to a managing design issues and quality control in a range of projects in construction.
  
Key Skills
  • Candidates will have experience in the detailed design of high quality public and/or small commercial facilities.
  • Personal attributes that will enable them to successfully engage with both consultant teams and project staff as well as significant client and stakeholder management and co-ordination.
  • Experience and competence across project phases is desirable including initiation and feasibility, Concept Design, Documentation and Construction phases.
  • A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience is anticipated.
