Job Description

Public Sector People are working with a regional council on the recruitment of a Planning Coordinator to act in the role for a period of six months.
Leading a team of five, made up of a Senior Planner, three planners and one admin, the team work across both statutory and strategic planning issues.
The team work on a diverse range of applications - residential, industrial and commercial, as well as subdivision, native vegetation control and planning enforcement. You will also have input in the development of local policies and planning scheme amendments.
At the moment, the role will be fully remote, but as restrictions ease you may need to attend the office two days per week. Flexible working hours and part-time hours considered. Seeking a candidate who has previous people management skills, ideally within Local Government.
Requirements include:
  • Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Environmental Planning or related discipline.
  • At least five years’ experience within Urban Planning or a related field.
  • Public Sector experience, ideally at a Team Lead or Coordinator level.
