Compliance Officer

Job Description

PSP are currently working with a Local Government client looking to engage a Compliance Officer on the following role:
  
$42 - $44 per hour + super
35 hour week
Ongoing contract
  
Role:
1)            Primarily investigating in the following with a high level of customer focus and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • unauthorised building and development works
  • unlawful and unauthorised businesses
  • unlawful and unauthorised land uses
2)            Ensuring applicants, owners and developers comply with the conditions of development consents.
3)            Undertaking inspections and issue compliance certificates for swimming pools.
4)            Issuing appropriate directions, notices, and orders to regulate activity.
5)            Preparing and presenting evidence in Court as required.
6)            Investigate and resolve customer complaints in a timely and expedient manner.
7)            Follow Council’s policies and procedures when carrying out work to ensure risks are managed. Report all incidents, risks and issues to Management on a timely manner.
Other duties as directed by the manager, that is within the scope of your skills, competence and training
  
Education/Certificates:
  • Degree, Graduate Diploma or Diploma in Building, Engineering, Construction field or equivalent.
  • Current Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
  • WHS White Card.
