Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to an experienced Leader to join a Local Government on temporary, full time contract until May 2022 as the Coordinator of Communications & Brand!
  • ASAP Start - May 2022
  • Band 8
  • 38 hours week
  • Lead established, professional team
  • Based in Melbourne North - East 
As the successful candidate you will be responsible for;
  • Lead the way in developing, delivering and supporting proactive engagement initiatives that will enhance the reputation of Council
  • Deliver Communications programs that build Council's brand, reputation and values 
  • Provide expert strategic communication advice to managers, project leads and the Executive Management Team to ensure successful implementation of organisational initiatives
  • Manage media relations and develop proactive and reactive media approaches
  • Undertake appropriate people management practices to ensure that the services have the right people in the right job at the right time
  • Build and maintain internal and external relationships, critical to success
  • Represent the Communications team on projects, meetings and activities
Key Requirements: 
  • Tertiary qualified in communications or other relevant field
  • Highly experienced leader of a customer focused communications, community engagement and brand team
  • Able to develop and deliver effective campaigns and publications to the community
  • A negotiator, able to influence outcomes to achieve organisational objectives
  • Knowledgeable in government, and local government organisations
