About the Role: 
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Team Leader of Project Delivery to join our local government client. We are looking for someone with the ability to deliver hands-on while also supporting and guiding the team. They’ll help get projects moving, facilitate tenders going out to market, and drive efficient procurement. They’ll also support the team in establishing reporting and project tracking to build accountability.

Ideally, we want a senior Project Manager with on-the-ground construction management experience, strong contract management skills (including the AS suite), and proven capability in end-to-end project delivery within local government.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and monitor projects from initiation to completion, managing scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders—including consultants, contractors, and community groups—to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Track and report on project performance, providing clear and timely updates to senior management.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Engage with the community to gather feedback and ensure project outcomes align with community expectations.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven project management experience, ideally within the traffic, transport, or streetscape environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Sound understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedural requirements.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project.
