Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and review detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including operating procedures, maintenance manuals, work instructions, and safety documentation.
- Translate complex engineering concepts into clear and user-friendly documentation.
- Conduct technical design reviews and risk assessments.
- Identify potential design, safety, reliability, and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering outcomes.
- Participate in project and design review meetings, providing technical advice and recommendations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and documentation processes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience in mechanical design within an engineering, manufacturing, utilities, infrastructure, or industrial environment.
- Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD platforms.
- Strong technical writing skills with experience producing engineering documentation.
- Demonstrated experience conducting technical risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- The ability to interpret and analyse complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Previous experience in a similar Project Engineer, Mechanical Designer, or Technical Writer position.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Exposure to project management methodologies and engineering project delivery.
- Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and engineering compliance requirements.
