Public Sector People is partnering with a Queensland State Government Department to recruit an AO7 Principal Advisor (Finance) for one of Queensland's most exciting infrastructure programs - a landmark metro and interchange upgrade being delivered in direct support of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.

The program will deliver a high-frequency, high-capacity metro-style service connecting the Sunshine Coast Airport, Mountain Creek, and the Maroochydore CBD. You'll be embedded in an integrated Program Delivery and Operations team, playing a key role in keeping this major project on track financially.

The Role

Based in Buderim and reporting into the Project Controls team, you'll own the financial performance reporting function across the Program - building dashboards, producing reports for senior stakeholders and governance groups, and managing monthly cash flow processes in close collaboration with the regional Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and produce project financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including dashboards and financial reporting tools
  • Provide financial analysis, variance explanations, trend reporting and financial position summaries to senior management and governance groups
  • Manage the monthly cash flow process in partnership with the regional Finance Team
  • Work within SAP and Oracle Primavera Unifier (3PCM) to ensure financial records are reconciled and compliant with departmental policies
  • Collaborate effectively with Program and Project team members and stakeholders
  • Contribute as a senior member of the Project Controls team
About You
  • CPA qualified and/or tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or business administration (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, monitoring and reporting within a government environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including PowerBI for financial dashboard development
  • SAP experience highly regarded
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Please note: a criminal history check will be conducted prior to appointment
