At the end of each financial year, Public Sector People like to come together to celebrate our wins as a team, but also to recognise the outstanding achievements of our team members. Engineering and construction consultant Ashley Wilkes has played an integral role in Public Sector People's wins over the last year and it's this dedication to the team that helped him take out the highly coveted Top Biller award- awarded to the consultant who has made the most sales for the business over the last financial year.

“Ashley embodies the specialist consultant mantra; he is dedicated to the industry, his candidates and clients. He understands that for him to progress he needs to create win-win situations for all those involved. Ash has been a huge part of Public Sector People’s success since the launch and has utilised all opportunities that have come his way. He has achieved great things already and I’m sure there are more to come.” -Tom Dumper, Public Sector People's Managing Director

We caught up with Ashley to find out a little bit more about what this achievement means for him…

What motivates you?

I pride myself on being a true specialist in my area. It is great when you are able to find the perfect match between client and candidate.

What does career success look like to you?

Career success to me is excelling in my chosen field whilst continuing to grow both professionally and personally. Recruitment is a role which provides you with great purpose and meaning whilst being able to help others with their lives and aspirations.

What does winning this award mean to you?

I am very pleased to have won the award for top biller. PSP and Design & Build is full of very talented consultants so there was some stiff competition. It is great to work for a company that recognises effort and encourages people to do the best they can.

What has been a highlight for the last financial year and what are your goals heading into next year?

The highlight was the number of referrals I received from not only candidates but also clients. It is really great to hear that people genuinely appreciate my support and advice and as a result trust me enough to recommend me to others.

Moving forward I would like to continue to grow on my personal branding as a Project Management specialist in Local Government whilst helping the PSP team grow. I know there is a lot more potential for PSP to own the technical recruitment space and I will commit to making that happen.
